Kim N. McNerney, CPNP

My love for science and caring for others started at a very young age. By the time I was 6 years old, I knew I wanted to work in the medical field. I would set my baby dolls up and create IV lines for them out of tape, mixing concoctions of what I could find in the kitchen for their medicines. From then on, I was always a high achiever academically. After high school, I studied biochemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and ultimately graduated with honors with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Graceland University in 2009. Soon after, I proceeded to obtain my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri- Kansas City in 2013 and started practicing as a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. While I was acquiring my education, I worked at Cockerell & McIntosh from 2005-2011 before coming back as a nurse practitioner in 2024, and I could not be happier to be back home!

Someone once told me that if you love what you do, you will never have to work a day in your life, and this is true for me. Every day is an adventure working with kids! I love navigating the ups and downs of parenting with families and taking on challenging medical cases. I encompass a holistic approach to medicine, particularly listening to the needs of the patient and their family. My favorite part is developing a bond with patients and families as they grow and flourish into adulthood. In my free time, I love spending time with my daughter and family, being outdoors, staying active, reading, traveling, and trying to cook.
